Dr. Rowe is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and the director of the ASCENT Lab. She received her B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Linguistics from Dartmouth College, her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the George Washington University, and her Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences from the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Dr. Rowe is passionate about the integration of computer science and neuroscience with speech-language pathology to advance personalized medicine for speech motor-impaired populations (specifically, adults who stutter and individuals with neurodegenerative conditions).

Mia Cerami
Graduate Research Assistant
Mia is a first-year master’s student in the Speech Language Pathology program at Northeastern University. She graduated from Smith College with a B.A. degree in East Asian Language and Cultural Studies, following the Chinese track, and a minor in Linguistics in May 2024. Having focused on child language acquisition in her undergraduate career, Mia looks forward to learning more about how neurodegenerative conditions in adults affect their speech and communication. Fun fact: In her spare time, Mia likes to crochet and needlepoint while watching crime shows.
Sarah Coyle
Graduate Research Assistant
Sarah is part of the PlusOne Master of Science in Speech Pathology program, so she is currently finishing her bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology while working towards her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology. While completing her bachelor’s degree she also had a minor in Psychology. She has interests in stuttering therapy, articulation treatments, and motor speech disorders. Fun fact: Sarah played varsity field hockey during her first four years at Northeastern.
Isaac Toth
Graduate Research Assistant
Isaac is a first-year Master’s student in Northeastern University’s Speech-Language Pathology Program. He obtained his B.A. in Linguistics at the University of Ottawa in Ontario, Canada and an M.A. in Linguistics at the University of Oslo in Norway. After graduating, he would like to work as an SLP with older adults and individuals with neurodegenerative diseases. Fun fact: Isaac used to compete in cup-stacking.
Neda Stoeva
Undergraduate Volunteer
Neda is a first-year undergraduate student at Northeastern University majoring in behavioral neuroscience. She is currently pursuing a pre-veterinary path, but she is very interested in speech/language and psychology. Fun fact: Neda grew up bilingual and loves learning new languages.
Sanketh Udupa
Undergraduate Volunteer
Sanketh is a second-year undergraduate student at Northeastern University, majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience with a minor in Data Science. He is currently pursuing the pre-med track. He is interested in speech and how it relates to neurodegenerative diseases. Fun fact: Sanketh has a signed jersey from Rob Gronkowski from when he visited Northeastern.
Krishay Matneja
Undergraduate Volunteer
Krishay is a first-year undergraduate at Northeastern University, majoring in behavioral neuroscience and exploring the pre-med track. With a deep passion for neuroscience, he brings two years of research experience, having worked on cancer studies and wet lab projects within the field. Fun fact: Krishay loves to travel and recreate the dishes from the places he visits.
Gauri Udaysing Shinde
Graduate Research Assistant
Gauri is a graduate student at Northeastern University, studying Analytics with a concentration in AI and Machine Learning. Her background includes research assistantships and projects in data science, machine learning, and data visualization. She has a strong foundation in data analytics and programming, and she is passionate about using these skills to drive social change and improve lives. Fun fact: Gauri is a trained Kathak dancer and loves to sketch and paint in her free time!
